A Charity Art Exhibition Supporting Big Dogs Huge Paws

Calling all Artists! Join us in celebrating the transformative power of rescue and second chances. Abstrakt Gallery invites submissions for our upcoming art exhibition, "A New Leash on Life" showcasing creative works inspired by rescue pets and their stories of hope, renewal, and unconditional love.

Exhibition Details:

  • Location: Abstrakt Gallery (Online)
  • Exhibition Dates: April - May 2025
  • Beneficiary: Big Dogs Huge Paws, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming giant-breed dogs.
  • Donation: 30% of all Gallery proceeds from the sale of art will be donated to Big Dogs Huge Paws to support their mission!

Submission Guidelines:

We are seeking artwork in various mediums that celebrates:

  • The bond between humans and rescue pets.
  • Stories of second chances and new beginnings.
  • Themes of hope, love, and renewal through the lens of animal rescue.

Accepted Mediums: Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media and digital art.

Not Accepted: Artworks that, in reasonable view of the organizer, include porn, and/or racial, and religious hatred, inappropriate and/or offensive content and AI-generated artwork.

Important Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: February 28
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 15
  • Art Exhibition: March - April 2025

Submission Requirements:

  • Artist Bio: Include a brief biography.
  • Artwork Images: High-resolution JPEGs or PNG (300 dpi) at least 960px (on the longest side), Only the artwork should show in the photo (no frames or extraneous backgrounds). Invited Artists might be asked for high resolution artwork photos, if needed.
  • Artwork Details: Title, medium, dimensions, year of creation, and price.
  • Statement: A short description of how your piece aligns with the theme.
  • Note: As this is an online gallery exhibition, the Artist is responsible for the shipping and insuring of the art to the buyer. Don’t worry, a member of the Gallery will assist you in the process.

Exhibition Awards

  • Best in Show
    • The Artist will be offered a permanent place in Abstrakt Gallery as a Featured Artist.
    • This includes a permanent Featured Artist page located on the Gallery site and a month long featured solo exhibit in 2025 for a month of the Artists choosing.
    • As well the Artist will be included in the Galleries yearly Featured Artist special magazine.
    • As a Featured Artist they will have the option to enter any Gallery Exhibition with no entry fee and guaranteed acceptance into the exhibition, as long as the pieces reflect the spirit of the exhibition.
  • Award of Excellence 
    • Two Artists will be chosen to receive award.
    • The Artists will be offered a permanent place in Abstrakt Gallery.
    • As a Gallery Artist they will have the option to enter any Gallery Exhibition with no entry fee.

Originality and Rights:

  • Artworks must be entirely the work of the entrant.
  • Entries must not be copies or derivatives based in any way on other copyrighted or published paintings, photographs or other Artistic work. Any infraction of this rule will result in serious consequences.
  • Artist should have all the rights for presenting and publishing the artworks internationally.

Additional Information:

  • Artists will retain 70% of all proceeds from sold works, with the option to donate their proceeds to the charity.
  • All participating Artists will receive promotional exposure through Abstrakt Gallery’s social media channels, website, and press coverage.
  • In addition all participating Artists will be published in the Abstrakt Gallery Magazine for the exhibition.
